A bookworm from a young age, author and entrepreneur, Kimberly Albritton, has turned her love for books into a passion for writing. “Growing up, I was an avid reader, but at some point over the last few years, I put aside books written by other people and decided it was time to tell my own stories” she explains.
As a creative writer, she has contributed to anthologies, written for magazines and produced a collection of short stories and poems. For years, she ran a successful writing group, The Mahogany Experience, in Raleigh, NC to fill a void for writers of color. That group became a breeding ground for talent with several of its members going on to publish books and become highly sought after spoken word artists.
In addition to being a published author, the Rocky Mount native is also the owner of Couture Copywriting. Through Couture, Kimberly partners with web designers as well as new and established business owners to provide website copy that amplifies their brands and turns prospects into lifelong customers.
She is also the founder and lead writer for The Color of Ingenuity, a blog dedicated to sharing the stories of African American entrepreneurs, thought leaders and innovators.
When she isn’t painting a canva with words, she enjoys being a basketball mom to her 15-year-old son, serving her community and belly aching laughs with close family and friends.
Kimberly currently resides in Raleigh, NC.
